Start of wedding season!

I love weddings! We went to an amazing wedding last night at Stan Mansion in Chicago. The mansion was ridiculously gorgeous but nothing compared to the bride! I have to say that my favorite part about weddings is the dancing. The girls and I danced our asses off last night! hahah

I've been dying to wear this dress somewhere! I bought it in Chicago when I was there for my birthday.   I also eventually put on a a pearl necklace that I bought a Macy's. 

I painted my nails this cute coral pink which, funny enough, was a part of the color scheme for the wedding! Matching!

These have been my most have most wear gauges lately because I had a limited options.

But this past week a bought these 3 pairs of gauge converters on Etsy. I'm so happy because now I can put my old dangly earrings, that I couldn't wear anymore, on these babies and be all ready to go!

I finally got an iphone and instantly downloaded instagram! haha I've been taking so many pictures with it. I had packed a little hand bag to bring little supplies with me to the reception but totally forgot it at the hotel along with my phone. :/ So I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked but oh well. I've got a lot of mental images saved up here. haha Thank you, Mike and Victoria, for having us at your wedding and congratulations again!

Strange Fruit

Strange week. I had orientation this week, which was an experience: new people, average lectures, no drinking at a far away resort. No school, so a vacation of sorts. Broke up with my boyfriend when I arrived home. It was overdue. A painful thing to do, but necessary. I was listening to the song Strange Fruit by Billie Holiday before I made this post, therefore, the name of the post. I'm kind of strange and the week has been kind of bittersweet.... 

I wore this to work on Thursday, and took pictures as I walked to meet some friends for a birthday shindig (happy birthday, cathy btw!!). Favorite dress, old heels, star wars pin. Nothing outrageous. Beautiful day.

Flores, Flowers, 꽃

I went to the Spring Flower Festival in Yeouido this weekend to see all the cherry blossom trees in bloom. Unfortunately, most of the flowers had not sprung from their dainty little buds yet. Something about being the weather being colder for longer this year... But I'm anticipating going back this upcoming weekend, when I'm sure the trees will be much more full ^^

In the meantime, there are plenty of flowers to be seen and smelled around Bucheon, and especially around my school. Here are some bright beautiful buds for you to enjoy!

In addition to the real flowers, I also wore a frock today with my own flowers. A flower clad in flowers surrounded by flowers. Ah, the beauty of it.

And as I was inventorying everything I was wearing, it seems to be heavily influenced by Marybeth. I mean, I've either adopted or stolen much of the outfit from her. Lol, oh well! It's not like she hasn't gone through all the clothes I've had to leave behind. Who knows what will still be there when i get back! And besides, of what I took, she can easily replace; their basic pieces, the tank and tights.

Either way, thanks, Bette. I was reminded of how wonderful and stylish you are. And how totally forgiving you are also ;)

Sexy Thigh-highs

Last weekend, I traveled to the southern island town of Jindo in the Jeollanam-do Province for the Jindo Miracle Sea Festival. The sea opens up due to a change in tide and a mile and a half "road" connects the mainland to a nearby island. Hundreds of people come every year. It was really crazy to witness! 

Don't you just LOVE these stunning orange rubber boots? Giving a whole new take on sexy thigh-highs, huh? I also wore some comfortable traveling clothes, which includes the cool, polka dot button-up shirt I bought at the traditional market a couple of weeks ago. It's got a cute little rounded collar too. Hello layering!

I and a group of three other girls took a 6 hour bus ride to the southern island and stayed in a nearby home. Jindo is extremely small, so there aren't very many motels/pensions to stay in. Luckily we found this lady who rents out rooms in her home to visitors. She and her husband were really sweet, but they didn't speak a word of English, only Korean! We managed, though, and had a wonderful stay. Thanks, ajumma!

The festival was along the coast and there were a number of different shows/tents set up along the strip. Mostly we just went along for the ride, since we didn't really know what everyone was saying, lol, but the costumes and music were fun enough. There were a lot of people too, Koreans and foreigners alike. People come from all over! We arrived in the late afternoon on Saturday, so we mingled around a bit, did the walk from island to island, had some pretty shady fair food and then were at a loss as to what to do once the festival was over around 7. Jindo is a beautiful island, but man, it's night life is seriously lacking. In fact, it's seriously nonexistent. We headed back to the ajumma's house around 7:30, ate some ramen, and hung out there until we curled up on the floor atop layers of blankets to sleep for the night.

The next day we left around 3, so we explored the grounds a bit more, climbing up on the amphitheater seats and beyond to a sweet little lookout. It was so nice getting a change of scenery. I miss seeing grass. The fresh, sea air was nice too. I don't think I could live in a city for too long. I would miss nature too much! I mean, I don't want to go to the other extreme either and live in a cabin in the woods, but some wildlife/greenery is nice to balance out all the concrete and people.

I had a wonderful time, and look forward to more trips in the future. I'm staying in this foreign country, I would hate myself if I didn't take advantage of all the opportunities to see and experience all these cool new things!
