Polka Hot

Everyone loves a good pun, ammirite?! I'm doubling up on polka dots today. Too much? Nah, I'm an elementary school teacher, a profession where it's acceptable, if not encouraged, to be goofy, playful, and whimsical. I mean, at least they're all shades of blue. Also, who doesn't love a skirt with pockets?! They're great!

This weekend, I helped celebrate my friend, Andy's, birthday. Unfortunately for you, I did not remember to take pictures until I was well drunk in Bucheon, while she was well drunk in Hongdae (Seoul). But I did manage to take pictures of the cool noraebang a few of us visited after getting chicken and downing a few glasses of beer and soju. As you can see, we were very entertained by the circular pillow tub, as much as we were with the actual singing, perhaps even more so.

I also visited an amazing Korean bathhouse in Yongsan called Dragon Hill, that I would recommend to anyone. I took Andy and Danielle for their first ever jimjilbang experience. Again, unfortuntely for you, I did not take pictures. I'll leave that one to your imagination.

Have a pleasant day, wherever you are!

Big Kid

We're getting a little childish today. Cartoons. Polka-dots. Dinosaurs. Who doesn't love a good romp around outside? I even hopped a fence to get to this location, which was just fun for the sake of climbing shit. I could've walked around to the gateway, but that's not fun... I've always been a big fan of climbing trees, but I don't remember the last time I climbed one.. I was never a very physically active kid. Bette was always better at that, but tree climbing, I liked. There's not much opportunity anymore, I feel. Sure there are tons of trees around, just asking to be climbed, but it's just not as easy to decide out of the blue to climb a tree. Maybe I should designate my next excursion to be a tree climbing one. Go tree climbing hunting. What did you do as a kid that you don't do much anymore?

Korean shopping: I got this "Totoro" sweatshirt at the traditional market near my apartment for 5,000 won, which is the equivalent to, like, $5. Huzzah! Who doesn't love Totoro? Who hasn't seen Totoro?! Because you need to experience Totoro. He's just so cuuuute and funny. He's like my dream man. Er... Anyway, the tights are from a subway station. Yep, subway stations here have a lot of shops including restaurants and convenience stores and clothing stores. I usually just walk by because I'm on my way to meet someone, but I decided I wanted to stop one day and buy these fun polka-dot tights. And they've been so much fun to pair with different things.

Go do something fun this weekend! I'm going to a lantern festival today! Yaaay!

Also, this post is dedicated to our floofy cat, Chippy, who passed away this week. She was our sister for 19 years, most of our lives, and she'll be missed a lot. She went while being outside in the sunshine. We love you, girl.

Puppies!

Maggie May (our senior puppy) and Storm O'Neill (Marybeth's daughter puppy)

Our dogs stepped in on our photo shoot today :) Though one is old and one is new, they're both puppies in our eyes.

I'm a substitute teacher while I wait to leave to teach English in South Korea. It's only been a couple weeks, but I'm having a really good time doing it. I get to set my own schedule (as to which day I want to accept a job or not), which is pretty wonderful. But also, I get to hang out with a variety of different kids! I've gotten a taste of everything from kindergarten to high school; I can't say which is my favorite yet.

I love getting dressed up for the "teacher" role though! Especially for elementary, because I put together more exaggerated outfits (today's theme was polka dots).

My socks are a little uneven, but that's how they came! (they were on sale, what can I expect?)

Sincerely,
Anna
p.s. Keep up, Bette!
