Home again home again

{Front yard}
Jiggity jig. So, we're finally settled in our new home! It's been great! I love my roommates and their babies. :) We even recently added my old family dog, Maggie, to the pack of wild dogs we have here. haha This house is so amazing and I honestly feel lucky that Max and I get to share some time and make some memories here with Brooke and Sam. Thank you guys! We moved in on the 14th and that day everyone was hard at work tearing down wall paper and getting ready to paint. We were finished with that by Sunday and moved in by Monday. It was a lot of work but it paid off so much because we've gotten so much done and it feels more like home now. I managed to take a few 'before' shots but not a lot and not enough to show how much work they did but here's my tour of our lovely, characteristic, warm, homey home. <3

So that's the house! Not photographed is Brooke and Sam's room, main floor bathroom, basement bathroom, some important hallways connecting the rooms together, the laundry room, and the workshop. I picked a weird time to take pictures. A saturday morning when I was about to take Pinot to the vet and Brooke and Sam were making breakfast so it wasn't a great time to take pictures of some stuff. haha But yeah, don't you just love this place?! They are so lucky to have found it and it's going to be such a great home for their future family. It's so homey. Well, now that I've finally gotten these pictures together I'll space out my next couple posts. Missing Anna and my mom though! :'(

Follow the Yellow Brick Wall

There is no place like home, and lucky for me, my home is coming to me very soon!

My mom is coming on Wednesday! She'll be here for 2 1/2 weeks. Whew! That's a lot of bonding time. Boots will also appreciate the company while I'm gone at school (sidenote: I just discovered that Boots can play fetch. What a remarkable cat/dog). We have plans to go to Jeju Island after this upcoming holiday. Elly managed to convince the school to allow me to have Thursday and Friday of next week off in addition to the Monday-Wednesday holiday the whole school has off. She and my school are awesome. Now, instead of going on vacation during the busy holiday, we can go after when everyone else has returned to Seoul. I'm so excited! Jeju is supposed to be a beautiful island popular with tourists. Expect a post all about it!

Also, Saturday night's show was a success! Our play, "Melting" came in 2nd out of the six plays competing! Oh, it was such a thrill! I honestly wasn't expecting to rank; the other plays were so creative and so well-acted. Congratulations to the first and third place winners, "Calibans" and "The Extras", respectively, and of course all the 11 other plays that performed! What could be next? I'd like to get involved with something either in theater or dance, something performance wise. But it's even just nice going out and watching others perform, and now I have a little more idea what shows are coming up. Shows that my mom and I can go see!

Stay classy,
Anna

Oh, the Snowmanity!

Bear with me, these are from a few weeks ago. I haven't really had a lot of opportunities to go out and snap pictures. Bette and I are not being very good bloggers, now are we? Well, she has a better excuse, what with moving in to a new HOUSE! But she's assured me that she will make a post giving us all a virtual tour once everyone is settled and unpacked. I already got one via Skype, and I thought it was pretty spiffy! A lot of wood paneling, but she told me it was worse when they first got in. But, no, you know what? I'll let her tell you when she gets to it :)

Okay, so these pictures are a little odd. I told you last post I wasn't very happy with a lot of my pictures lately, but out of, oh I don't know, 3 other outfit pictures, these are at least sort of useable.

Other fun news! I was in a play last weekend! The show is called "Melting" and it's one of fourteen 10 minute plays. Friday and Saturday night will showcase seven each, and our show kicked off the whole thing! The play is about two snowmen, Brice and Crystal, one of which gets a top hat, and he "turns into a pompous British tool". He puts on this really bad British accent and acts like the shit and I get pissed at this new him. And then I go to sleep in a huff, and he meets the sun, who quickly reveals the harsh reality that his life is finite, and that he will eventually melt. It's a funny little play about life and dying.
we're minimalist snowmen.

But seriously, it was a lot of fun being involved in something creative like this. I had been a long time since I had been on stage. The last show I did was the Vagina Monologues when I was a freshman in college. I used to always be involved in some artistic en devour, be it theater, dance, band, or art shows, but I haven't really been keeping up with it as I get older. Which is dumb, because it's not for lack of opportunity. I mean, maybe in some way. I'm not on a campus any more where there are shows and auditions every other weekend; I have to make more of a conscious effort to go out and find these things now. So this was good. I got my little theater fix :D
this is when the wind entered to steal his hat. cheeky bastard.
Oh! And I almost forgot to mention! Each night, the audience voted for their three favorite plays, which would do an encore performance the following weekend, and "Melting" was picked! So we're going on again TONIGHT! And a winner will be chosen tonight for a cash prize! I'm not sure if we'll get the coveted first place (there are a lot of very funny, very good plays we're going up against), but it's just going to be fun to give it one more go!

I was going to

Sincerely,
Anna
